Cabin In The Woods.
Cabin in the Woods. I did not spend enough time in drawing out the windows. So then I had to spend time in correcting them. Lesson learn, spend time in the beginning, lessens headaches later.

Old Barn at Sunset
Here is my latest painting. I found it on Discover Wisconsin. I was intrigue by the sunset, corn field and old barn.

Our Barn Painting with my MIL
Here is my mother-in-law Cathie with the painting of the barn on our farm I did. Part of this barn was torn down last summer, so I decided to paint it before it went down. I took the picture from the highway. My husband told me to put the colors of the original barn on the painting. I painted 3 paintings. Our uncle has one and my mother-in-law one and I have the other one.

I have a shopping area!
It is under the Gallery.... The items are all 5 x 7 cards from photos of scans of my paintings. The painings I used was what I did in 2014, when I just started out.... The insides of the cards are blank and I signed the back. They also have envelopes. I am selling them for $2 a card which includes shipping, if you want to pick them up personally they will be $1.00 each. Contact me: shurly@tds.net or go on facebook in the personal message section to place your order.

Deer by the Lake
I painted these deer from a photo on Paint My Photo. It is a lake in Wisconsin.

Leaf
I thought this would be a good picture to practice on. It is a leaf with a wood background. I started by painting the leaf yellow and added layers to get the finish painting.

White Flower
I found this picture on Paint My Photo: http://paintmyphoto.ning.com/photo/trillium-11 I thought is would be a good study in greens and a fairly easy flower. I tried to think about what my teacher, Angela Fehr, does with her paintings when doing this. My style is more realistic than hers. I see improvement from past flowers I have tried.

Bridge
This bridge painting was rather challenging, but good for me. I found the picture on "Paint My Picture". I tried to stay true to the picture with the angles of the bridge and water. I think I did pretty well. I did not use any drawing devices except a pencil, eraser and my eyeballs. I did use a ruler at the end to get the water line on the bridge. This painting shows perspective which I learned in highschool. I still need to work on the greens, but overall I am pleased

Old Mill
Here is a painting I did from a picture I found on Paint My Picture. It is of an old mill. I like the building part of the painting, but had a lot of trouble with the green/yellow trees. I finally gave up on the trees. I need to practice a little more.

Hibiscus Necklace
Here is a necklace I made from my hisbiscus painting.
